作者简介


       陈社胜,毕业于复旦大学法语专业和华东师范大学英语语言文学专业,现任复旦大学外文学院副教授,专业研究方向为应用语言学及语言教学。多年从事法语、英语教学研究和国际医学交流工作。主编教材《大学后英语》(1999)、《万事通中级英语》(2001)、《医学英语视听说教程Ⅰ——健康通识》、《医学英语视听说教程Ⅱ——医学教育与健康服务》、《医学英语视听说教程Ⅲ——疾病预防与治疗》(2007);参编《英汉医学辞典》(1997);发表的主要论文有Helping Students Foster Good Vocabulary Learning and Retention (1993)、《国际合作项目成功个案探讨》(1998)、《基础阶段后英语教学的思考与实践》(1999)等。

       前言
      
      
       《当代医学英语综合教程》是依据教育部颁布的《大学英语课程教学要求》编写,供高等院校进行医学健康综合教育的系列英语教材。
       本着“用英语来学习,在学习中用英语”的宗旨,《当代医学英语综合教程》力求把了解与认识当代医学的现状与未来融入英语学习中,把英语学习与医学人文素质教育有机结合在一起。因此本套教程不是传统型的大学英语教材,而是用英语来学习医学专业的新型英汉双语综合教材。
       传统型的大学英语教材大多太注重语言本身,教学走的是所谓的先打基础、后结合专业的路子。在这种思路指导下的教学内容有不少缺失:英语学习与专业学习缺乏联系,反而是专业学习越来越多地入侵到了英语教学的领地;英语学习的内容与当今社会发展缺乏联系,缺乏信息量和时代感;不同的院校英语教学与课程建设雷同化,缺乏特色和特点。
       《当代医学英语综合教程》力求弥补传统型大学英语教材的缺失,为医学院校有自身特色和特点的英语课程建设及教学提供新的思路。这一思路是:英语和专业不应当人为地分割开来,两者应当相互结合交融在学习中。基础与提高没有截然的分界线,往往是你我一体。医学院校的英语教学在内容上反映当代医学科学与医学人文的发展,才会让学生学之有味、学之有获、学之有用。
       《当代医学英语综合教程》是系列教程,有《当代医学英语综合教程Ⅰ——医学探索》、《当代医学英语综合教程Ⅱ——关注健康》、《当代医学英语综合教程Ⅲ——医学人文》3册。每册有12章,每一章聚焦当代医学的一个专题,通过问、听、视、读、练、译等多种形式,用英语学习、研究和讨论每个专题内容,扩大综合医学知识,提高医学专业英语应用能力,提升整体医学人文素质。
       本套教程由国内10多所高等院校从事英语教学与研究的专家、教师合作编写。对被选入本套教程的文本和音、视频材料的作者和机构,编者深表感谢。正是通过接触这些真实的材料,学习者能从更多角度、更深层面来认识当代医学的发展和未来,也能在提升医学英语应用能力上受益匪浅。复旦大学出版社医学分社总编王龙妹女士为本套教程的编写和出版做了大量的工作,编者为此同样表示诚挚的谢意。
